A Kitchen Party

The use of the kitchen for preparing meals is not included in the Bed & Breakfast. In the breakfast room, there is a shared guest fridge that can be used for storing food and drinks and a microwave for warming up pre-cooked dishes.

There is no food nor beverages for sale on the premises. I am happy to take people to our local organic grocery if they don’t have a car and want to treat themselves to something nice.

The guest lodge has a reputation of being spotlessness and well-kept, something guests comment appreciatively. It is a main feature of the guidelines for promoting sustainability and community life, part of the art of hospitality I feel called to uphold. The cleanliness is the result of a collective endeavour as we each learn to care for ourselves and others and become ever more aware of our consummation habits (or biases) and our footprint. Tending to our outer and inner spaces with love and gratitude is a first step towards the radical simplification that draws forth more reciprocity and solidarity.

Guests usually eat outside on their terrace table, weather permitting, or in their room. Guests are welcome to use the big kitchen table and help themselves to plates, glasses and cutlery. I kindly ask that at the end of the meal guests clear away, wash up, dry and put pack the items they have taken and generally leave the place as they found it.

The kitchen is available for groups renting all three rooms for more than one night. See below for cost.

There is an induction hob, a state-of-the art oven with an air extractor above and a dishwasher. The kitchen is equipped with the basics and a few produces. There is ample storage place for dry groceries. Guests renting out the kitchen will receive instructions about using the appliances and disposing of their trash. They will also be issued kitchen towels. Guests are requested to leave the kitchen reasonably clean when they leave.

Pricing

The cost of renting the kitchen is 350,00 kr. per day. This covers the electricity and the extra cleaning at the end of the stay, such as cleaning the oven, cleaning the dishwasher, disposing of the trash and dealing with the recycling.

Breakage or damaged items will need to be replaced or billed to the guest.

Extra cleaning such as spilled wax, wine stains, burns and slashes in the wood or worktops will be charged between 500,00 and 1’000,00 kr. depending on the damage.

Unblocking the drain costs 500,00 kr.
