The Oak Tree Room

The Strength of the Oak Tree

All great traditions celebrate the strength, endurance and resilience of the Oak Tree. The notion of a tiny acorn becoming a mighty oak reminds us of the importance of securing solid foundations if we are to grow tall and, what’s more, remain centred and courageous as we move through the whirlwinds of tumultuous circumstances. Grounded stability is essential for maturing into emotional sobriety and equanimity, for assimilating the qualities of steadfastness and faithfulness that comprise the salt of the earth, the light of the world, both burrowed in the essence of the majestic oak tree. The Oak Tree offers itself as a grounding staff enabling transmutation and regeneration by penetrating the depths of darkness held within the earth to draw forth the potential to grow in mobility and majesty.

Because of its solidity and robustness, the Oak Tree is associated with the wisdom of common sense that brings things to fruition by honouring and practicing radical simplification. In this sense, the Oak Tree radiates the mystery of the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary and mundane. The Oak Tree is also an omen of fertility and creativity. Its unique creativity flourishes from cross-pollinations where numerous doors and floodgates open to ease the confluence of streams of wisdom and consciousness that then, paradoxically, slow down the flow of love.

Step into the Oak Tree room, close your eyes and breathe in, breathe out its strength and faithfulness. The hues of tender autumnal colours will sweep you away to an abundant harvest revealing the treasures of intimacy and the ease of being at home within and without, emanating inner peace and outer joy.

The Oak Tree room is lovingly curated for two people in an intimate relationship curious to explore new dimensions of intimacy and the essence of hygge. Or, as a single occupancy, it appeals to the single traveller eager to explore through the combined contemplative practices of silence, stillness and solitude the art of hygge and self-compassion.

The room is 18,5m2 and has a double bed made up of two single beds (size 90 x 200cm) which can be separated if needed each with a traditional Nordic duvet and two feather pillows. The room has a desk and chair with a desk lamp, a spacious wardrobe with shelves and hangers, a big bookshelf, two big comfortable chair, a coffee table, a mirror and a wall coat rack. The ceiling and bed lamps have 3 levels of brightness and the bed lamps also have a USB port. There is a kettle and a selection of herbal teas to take care of the compassion brimming from hygge.

A bay window opens directly on to the terrace with views over the garden and surrounding fields. There is an outdoor table and 2 chairs (cushions in the wardrobe) and an outdoor lamp to enjoy hygge time in the evening.

The bathroom is not en suite but in a separate area. Guests are allocated their private bathroom which includes a shower, a washbasin and a toilet. Towels are provided and, if needed, there are a few basic ecofriendly toiletries.

There is free high quality internet coverage in the guest lodge. There are no rooters in the rooms and the WIFI cannot be switched off.

As per Danish law the guest lodge is a no smoking space. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas, at some distance from the house. Guests are expected to deal with their cigarette buts and dispose of them correctly in the general waste.
